Jesús Nieto

Jesús Nieto is a “Research Fellow” at the multinational chemical company Dow. He has a degree in Chemistry from the University of Valladolid, specializing in physical chemistry, and a Master's degree in Astrophysics from the International University of Valencia. In his 36-year career at Dow, he has spent 20 in polyolefin R&D, focusing on the design of new types of polyethylene from various families, with the remainder on application development of the relationships between molecular structure, conditions processing and final properties of the transformed polymer. He has spent several years in the Dow laboratories in Terneuzen (Holland) and Freeport (USA), and now generates and directs global projects from the Dow extrusion and packaging applications development laboratory in Tarragona, Spain, in collaboration with numerous international companies in the food and industrial packaging value chain.
