Giovanni Filippone is Associate Professor of Polymer Science at the University of Naples Federico II. He studied Materials Engineering and he received a PhD in 2004, working on the rheology of elastomeric compounds for tire industry. In 2009 he obtained a permanent role as Assistant Professor at the University of Naples Federico II. His main research interests concern the rheology, processing technologies, and structure-property relationships in polymer nanocomposites, polymer blends, and bio-based polymers. In these fields, he is authors of >50 scientific papers and about 45 conference communications, and he is currently the Principal Investigator of a national research project on the valorization of low-environmental impact plastics through the use of nanoparticles.
