We regret to inform you that we have been forced to postpone the GEP-SLAP 2020-21 Congress scheduled for May 9-13, 2021, to May 8-12, 2022. We apologize for this inconvenience that is beyond our control. The congress will be held in the same venue, the KURSAAL Conference Center in the city of San Sebastián in Spain.
As you know, despite the difficulties, we had been working to make the conference possible and we already had a very positive response, with more than 260 abstracts received. However, the current circumstances force us to delay the starting date of the Congress.
To date, the measures to contain the COVID pandemic have not been as effective as expected, coupled with the delay in the arrival of vaccines. The state of alarm still in force in Spain (scheduled until May 9, 2021) makes travel between communities impossible, hence trips to San Sebastián from inside or outside of Spain will be very limited.
The only possibility to go forward with the Congress would have been to hold the entire congress online. However, as we all know, the spirit of the Congress responds to the criterion of a meeting point between researchers from different disciplines and as a discussion forum for possible collaborations. Therefore, we think that the GEP-SLAP 2022 can be a face-to-face Congress attended by many participants from different regions of Spain and from different countries in Latin America and the world.
We trust that you understand the decision made in order to preserve health and also the spirit of the Congress.
We will soon post in our website the new deadlines and important dates.
Thanks for your consideration
